Meg Peterson
independent director
My name is Dr Meg Peterson and my pronouns are she/her. I am tall with blue eyes and shoulder-length sandy blonde hair.
I am a scholar, artist and cultural leader and the Founder of 21 Artists that explores creativity and social change internationally through artist development, social impact, and research. I am also a Lecturer in the Department for Culture, Media, and Creative Industries at King’s College London where I am Course Director of the BA Programme, pioneering research and teaching focusing on cultural entrepreneurship, cultural policy, creativity, and creative social change.
I am passionate about the potential for citizen-led methodologies to be implemented more widely around the UK and internationally. This chimes with my work in more democratic, feminist, participatory methodologies in other projects. From a societal perspective, we have reached a critical point with issues such as climate change, economic disparity and political strife where the voice of people directly affected by these issues need to be included in decision-making processes, with citizen’s assemblies having the potential to be a key part of these shifts.
